Photographers' Pool Government

At the end of 2022, I saw via the DuPho , of which I am a member, is calling on the professional photographers of the Netherlands to register for the Government's photographer pool.

The Dutch central government needed a large pool of photographers spread across the Netherlands to carry out commissioned photography.

I signed up on a whim. I thought to myself, I'll just give it a try. If it doesn't work out, that's fine too.

For a while I heard nothing, until I received an email from Studio 38c. The company that won the tender and was looking for photographers. It stated that my portfolio was deemed good enough to be included in the photographer pool of the Dutch central government.

Central government photographers' pool

Around 180 photographers applied for the 67 available spots spread across the Netherlands. 51 photographers ultimately made the cut and were admitted.

For the next four years, I will be one of the photographers who will be photographing in North Holland, Friesland and Flevoland for the central government. A great honour.

PHOTOGRAPHERS' POOL LAUNCHES

The pool starts on 1 March 2023 and the assignments can start coming in.

The majority of the assignments will likely be carried out around The Hague. That's where the ministries and the House of Representatives and Senate are located. The centre of the Dutch government and administration.

Yet I secretly hope for a few assignments from Rijkswaterstaat. That would fit nicely with my Industrial Photography . Or from the Navy based in Den Helder.

In any case, I'm curious about the assignments I'll be able to carry out in the coming years and the beautiful images I'll be able to create.

In any case, keep an eye on my website. I'm not allowed to show every photo or assignment. But what I am allowed to show, I will.
