VISIT BY STATE SECRETARIES TO JEWISH CULTURAL QUARTER
Since 1 March 2023, I have been included in the photographer pool for the Central Government. On 3 April 2023, I photographed my first assignment for the Central Government.
On this sunny day, the State Secretary for Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), Maarten van Ooijen, and the State Secretary for Culture and Media, Gunay Uslu, are visiting the Jewish Cultural Quarter in Amsterdam.
The Jewish Cultural Quarter consists of the Jewish Museum, the Portuguese Synagogue, the Dutch Theatre, and the National Holocaust Museum. General Director Emile Schrijver and Business Director Liesbeth Bijvoet welcome the state secretaries.
After an inspiring presentation with nice conversations, they took a short walk through the Jewish Museum and the Portuguese Synagogue.
An official visit is tightly organised with little time for delays. Most of the time is therefore spent bringing the state secretaries up to speed.
During the walk through the Jewish Museum and the Portuguese Synagogue, there is fortunately still time for Emile's interesting stories about Jewish history in Amsterdam and the Netherlands.
Below you can see the photo reportage that I created for the photographers' pool of the Dutch central government and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. These images have been placed in the media library of the Dutch central government.
